Background: Sage was born sometime in the eleventh century to a family one can assume was not all that well off. She fell in love with Finn Mikaelson, and he with her. Eventually, he turned her into a vampire, because they wanted to spend eternity together, but before they got that chance, Klaus daggered Finn, letting Sage assume he was dead. She did the best she could, going forward on her own. She learned to survive and did what she had to--including siring other vampires along the way. While not much is known about the intervening years, in 1912, she was a boxer, enjoying placing bets and generally winning in the ring against human men. Her philosophy on humans is that they are there to be fed from, yes, but also for pleasure. It was Sage who taught Damon how to not just survive, but live again as a vampire, introducing him to all the pleasures possible in their state. Where Damon had been somewhat apathetic about life, Sage helped him find some enjoyment in it, even without Katherine. She was to him what Lexi was to Stefan, and their alliance held strong through the next century.

She hated Rebekah and Klaus, and was willing to work with Damon against them until she learned Finn was alive and awake and Damon was trying to kill him. She rapidly switched sides, and whatever Rebekah and Klaus had thought of her before (that she was nothing more than a peasant whore), they were more than willing to let her help them survive and lure Finn back to the fold. Where Finn hadn't seen much point in going on, hating what he was, what they'd all become, finding Sage again gave him something of a reason to live...until tragedy struck.

RP Canon Points: In general, Sage is played from pre-finding Finn, or I'm happy to go AU, obviously, with her going forward.

new_salem: Like everyone, Sage was pulled into New Salem from "Ghost World," and thus my assumption is that she was traveling and living her usual life until she wound up in the new world, where she's been trying to reestablish herself before going to find out wtf is going on.

Personality:

Sage is eminently pragmatic. Finn is, without a doubt, the love of her life. She's spent 900 years missing him, but this hasn't stopped her from doing what she needed to in order to survive and thrive in the world. She's sensual and sexual, physical in most of her endeavors. She likes defying the stereotypes of what both vampire and woman should be. While she isn't necessarily heartlessly cruel (Humans are for pleasure, not just food)--she does see humans as creatures who are prey, and vampires as superior and doesn't seem to show any guilt for that, even when gently reproached by Finn. She's generally pretty aggressive and can be cold and calculating, but Finn brings out her softer side.
